Hartenbos – October 2012

And so , my weather guru was way out !

In poring buckets full of water , we “soon to be wet RAT’s” left Mike Hopkins Motor Cycles , leading Triumph dealership (sorry had to do that). Picking up some riders N2 stop and then @ Sir Lowrys Pass we all headed to the planned first stop being Buffelsjag. And the rain fell some more. A very friendly car driver flashed a warning , but none was seen. Riviersonderend was an unplanned but forced stop – with the two knobbly tyre riders on 800’s slightly slower than the rest of us. The Rocket of Tjoppie howling behind us. Buffelsjag was a welcome sight. Fuel and food for the stomach & off we went…………. Great fun chasing and passing the Z4 of Mr.Zak. (who had Arnolds luggage).

Thanks to Andre & Andre we found the accommodation and settled in ( to the dismay of some – not the Hilton)….supported the local Spar (way too much)….braai (photo’s tell all)

Saturday we were met by some local “coastal” guys and off we went for a LONGGGggg ride , up to 8Bells , Oudtshoorn , down Outenique , there to find Mr. Streeten Suzuki had a bauldy tyre , left him in George (Triumph’s stopped @ a Honda Dealer to fix a Suzuki tyre….MMmmm) !!! a very windy Saarsveld road from George to Knysna proved almost to be the downfall of both Speed Triple , Rocket & ST1050 ….but all was OK …… Triumphs again proving what great bikes they are. Lunch in Plett was great …… back to hotel Hartenbos , welcome braai where we were joined by the Burger Brothers. (Gareth was so happy about that)………

The ride back was so long……a quick stop in Heidelberg for stomach food….. Mr. Zak getting sunburned in the Z4…….

No problems with the bikes….No fines (as yet)…….and great spirits……THANKS to all. Without all you guys and girls it would have been , well dead.

To the next event……watch this channel……………..
